The King is Waiting

Whether you are already saved or not, Christ has offered Himself as a sin sacrifice once for all time for all who will receive it. Even if you have not received Christ, He paid for your sin too! Sin is not an issue with our God! He took care of all sin in the body of Christ! We just have to receive Him, and through Him we receive everything we need! I also know that it is hard to forgive yourself when you mess up and this is one of the biggest obstacles that keeps us from receiving this forgiveness that Jesus paid for. We don’t feel like we deserve it or even worse, that there will be strings attached to this free gift. If this is you, I have got some good news for you!

Ephesians 4:32 (MSG) Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you.

1 Peter 3:18 (NASV) For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

Hebrews 10:12 (NLT) But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.

I love the example in John 8 of Jesus forgiving the woman caught in adultery. She must have been completely humiliated and full of shame but Jesus’ forgiveness was so simple! There was no long discussion over why she did what she did. They never discussed a plan to keep her from ever doing that again. He didn’t remind her of every other thing she had ever done wrong. He didn’t give her a list of things to do to make up for her sin. He didn’t give her a list of what she couldn’t do either. He just simply forgave her! Jesus knew He was going to the cross to pay for her every sin, and ours, yesterday, today and forever!

I know it is still hard to really believe that we are completely forgiven from all sin, but it is True! God cannot lie.

John 8:3-11 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” They were using this question as a trap, in order to have basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again, he stooped down and wrote on the ground. At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. Jesus straightened up and ask her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” “No one sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” (Grace) Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin” (Truth).

“If anyone of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”

Bracing herself for the blow, how long was she there? How long did He wait?

I can just see her there. Bracing herself, trying to protect herself against all the stones that would be coming. I wonder if she might just want the stones to come quickly so that it could be over. She was so consumed with her own pain and shame that she did not notice that the King of all creation, the embodiment of Love and mercy had already saved her and was standing beside her waiting for her to receive it, just as He is for each of us today.

How long was she there? How long did He wait?

Multitudes followed Jesus. Hundreds and even thousands at times. How long would it have taken for them all to leave?

John 8:9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there.

Jesus could have walked away also. He had in fact already saved her life, but that was not enough. He did not come to just save her life, He came to save her soul and to give her all that He would later die to give us all, forgiveness and freedom from sin and death, and a life of more than enough.

John 10:10 (TPT) A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come (Jesus) to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect—life in its fullness until you overflow!

John 3:17 (TPT) For God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it!

I believe Jesus would have waited for as long as it would have taken for her to receive the forgiveness and life that he was offering her, just as he does for each and every one of us today.

When Jesus said these words to her, “Then neither do I condemn you,” (Grace) Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin” (Truth), He was offering her forgiveness with an answer (Truth). It was her choice if she accepted it. We all have a choice.

We need to forgive ourselves. God has forgiven us. How long will we brace ourselves for the pain, we more often than not feel we deserve? How long will we reject his forgiveness and truth and sit in self-pity? We anticipate death instead of life, pain instead of healing, and judgment instead of mercy and forgiveness. How long will we wait before we accept the love and forgiveness the Lord is offering us? He hurts when we hurt, just as parents do when their children are in pain.

How long was she there? How long did he wait?

As long as it takes!!

Rev 3:20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door; I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

He stands at the door and knocks! Not just once and says, “No ones home, I’ll come back later.” No, he knocks, and knocks, and knocks. He keeps knocking. As if, he has not done enough. What more could he do. He was brutally beaten and mocked and crucified for sins he did not commit!

He knocks, and He waits!!

Will you accept what He is offering you?

Forgive yourself…Accept what He is offering you, Forgiveness and Love. He will not leave you He will wait for you… He will walk with you…He will heal all your hurts…

What are you waiting for? HE IS HERE!!  Accept him! Take His hand!

He is the King of Glory; the King of all creation and He loves you just as you are! Right now, in all your sin and mess, He accepts you just as you are. Trust Him to help you and cleanse you. We cannot do this for ourselves. He wants you to accept His love, His forgiveness, His healing and His calling!

Psalms 103:2-4 (MSG) O my soul, bless God, don’t forget a single blessing!

3-5 He forgives your sins—every one.
He heals your diseases—every one.
He redeems you from hell—saves your life!

If you have never called on the name of Jesus, today is your day! Romans 10:13 says, everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. He loves you and wants to help you. If this is you, please pray this prayer with me. Say out loud:

Jesus, today I call on your name. I believe that you are the Son of God and that you came to save me. Lord I receive your forgiveness today and now I accept you into my heart. I ask you to help me in every area of my life and to show me who you say I am. Now, I receive your power and every promise as a child of God.
